his home was custom designed for a client who liked an architectural style made famous by Frank Loyd Wright. Prairie style homes while very common in western and mid-west states are some what less common here in New England. The home has a very distinctive exterior with it’s use of low sloped roofs, wide roof overhangs, long horizontal lines, and a variety of stone and siding textures on the exterior. The homes earth tone colors blend naturally with the surrounding wooded lot. The back of the home features an expansive wrap around deck with a hot tub and screened in porch that allows the homeowner to feel submersed within the natural beauty of the surrounding woods.
The interior of the home is also very distinctive with trim and detail that is common to this style of architecture. The first floor of the home features a oversized family room with a coffered ceiling and a massive wood burning fireplace. A large wrap around kitchen, formal dining room, formal living room, and home office with wall to wall built in cherry cabinets. The second floor has two guest bedrooms, and a large master suite with a fireplace, his and hers closets, a pocket office, and a dynamic master bathroom with a overflow whirlpool tub as a focal point.
The basement was roughed in for a home exercise room and laundry area and ample storage.
The unique exterior, floor plan, and custom finishes make this home truly a one of a kind that we very much enjoyed designing and building.
